“The Zion Pentecostal Church is nestled in the majestic pines in Mattawamkeag Maine on Route 157 which runs along the Penobscot River.  Our Pastor Rick Libby, his wife Linda and our church family welcomes you to visit with us if you are passing through or join us if you are looking for a church home.

We have Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:45 AM, Sunday Morning Services with music and a “good ole’ fashion” message at 11 AM, a Sunday evening service at 6 PM and a Bible study on Tuesday evenings at 6 PM.”

Pentecostalism or Classical Pentecostalism is a renewal movement within Christianity that places special emphasis on a direct personal experience of God through the baptism with the Holy Spirit. The term Pentecostal is derived from Pentecost, the Greek name for the Jewish Feast of Weeks. For Christians, this event commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the followers of Jesus Christ, as described in the second chapter of the Book of Acts.
